An article in the San Angelo Standard Times of January 13, 2010, emphasizes again the inequity inherent in the sentencing of the FLDS men, convicted under statutes specially crafted to target members of a religious minority:
SAN ANGELO, Texas — An Eldorado man pleaded guilty to a count of murder Wednesday morning and was sentenced to 33 years in prison during a hearing in the Tom Green County District Courthouse.
